The Diakonie in South Westphalia forms the largest health and social network in our region - and is there from birth to the end of life for people who are ill, in need of help and care. With 3,400 employees, the company is a major employer in about 120 facilities at more than 40 locations. Every year, 100,000 people are treated, cared for and looked after here. As a professional service provider, Diakonie in South Westphalia links numerous diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitation and care units. These include hospitals, medical care centres, homes for the elderly, outpatient care services along with a meal service, a day care centre for children, outpatient rehabilitation centres, residential homes for people with disabilities, help for homeless people, a hospice, various counselling centres and its own care training centre. There is a strong foundation for the work of Diakonie in South Westphalia: as a Protestant institution, the organisation is firmly anchored in a Christian worldview.
